Traineeships
Â鶹´«Ã½AV offer a range of Traineeship products to help young people to kickstart their career.
What is a Traineeship?
Traineeships are a short programme with a minimum duration of six weeks and a maximum duration of six months. The provider works with the employer and learner to flex the programme according to the needs of the learner.
Who are Traineeships for?
Traineeships are designed to help young people who are:
- Eligible to work in England
- not currently in a job and have little work experience, but are focused on gaining employment
- aged 16 to 19-years old and forms part of the study programme provision
- aged 16 to 24-years old and qualified below Level 3
Funding for Traineeships
16 to 19-year-old learners: Funding for traineeships is through the Education and Skills Funding Agency young people’s funding methodology for study programmes. Funding amounts will depend on the number of hours the programme contains, when agreed between the provider, employer and learner.
19 to 24-year-old learners: Funding for traineeships is through the Education and Skills Funding Agency’s Adult Education Budget (AEB). Providers must obtain permission to use a proportion of their AEB for the delivery of traineeships.
